Bolt Action - Armies in Play

Whilst the Divisions and actions are roughly modeled on real divisions and places, my intention in this is purely to draw inspiration from the real battles that occurred. At this time I have little interest in re-enacting actual battles (I don't know how I feel about doing that, ethically), and all my battles will be rather vague with place names, or have the places / armies entirely made up.

If I accidentally use a real life infantry regiment where they never were supposed to be / cause some offense with the battles - no offense is meant.

UNITED STATES

29th Infantry Division, 175th Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion, Charlie Company

The 175th fought all across France (after fighting at Omaha) and the low countries, before finally punching through into Germany itself. Lots of opportunities for great Bolt Action scenarios.

743rd Tank Batallion

The 743rd was an Independant Tank Batallion that landed on Omaha on D-Day, fighting across France, the Seigfried Line and into the Battle of the Bulge. Parts of it were attached to the 29th Infantry up until the 14th June, when it was permanently attached to the 30th Infantry

GREAT BRITAIN

3rd Infantry Division, 185th Infantry Brigade, Royal Norfolk Regiment, 1st Battalion

The Royal Norfolk fought from Sword Beach, were part of Market Garden, and fought all the way into Germany in 11 months of non-stop combat.

By the end of the war in Europe, the 1st Battalion had gained a remarkable reputation and was claimed by Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery, the 21st Army Group commander, as 'second to none' of all the battalions in the 21st Army Group.

6th Airborne Division, 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion

21st Panzer


Fought the US in the opening days of Normandy, before moving to defend Caen. Almost totally wiped out in Falaise.
