Welcome to BeardyGamer, a site that attempts to uncover and sate my geeky obsessions with Wargaming, miniature painting, Dungeons & Dragons and a rather unsavoury addiction to PC Gaming.
Through this blog I intend to charter the course of various skirmish campaigns that I play solo, whilst sharing the experiences of RPG's that occasionally spring up with my wife.  As I sail through these uncertain waters I'll no doubt be posting on many other issues that relate to my hobby, and, if this blog gets a small following (which I hope), I'll try to make at least a few articles that you might find interesting (no guarantees!)

The United Kingdom (I'm unsure if this is known anywhere else) has a particular slang word for those few whose taste delves towards the dice and the miniatures. They are known as "being a little beardy". It even has an entry in the Urban Dictionary, though I guess it has evolved a little since I knew the term.

My name's Darren, a guy from the Midlands UK with a faint Yorkshire accent. I'm in my early 30's, married (without kids) to a late 20's girl who's also into geeky endeavours. Through our busy lives we try at least once a week to combine our geeky-sides into one, powerful, mega-geek, where we battle evil, save the world ... and just lark about.

Oh, and I also have long hair and a beard.
